| The Western Rivers Steamboat CyclopediumBy Bates, Alan L.. Hustle Press-Box 111, Leonia, N. J. 07605. c. 1968, 124 pages, paperback, about 300 sketches. The subtitle says alot, "American Riverboat Structure and Detail." Salted with lore, with a nod to the modelmaker. The book is loaded with pencil sketches of construction details and arrangements. It does not contain historically accurate engineering but any good modeler could easily build a convincing model from the information provided. Recommended by Fiddlinsue, 8/1/2001.
